X-Men sausages (X-sausages?) 🌭🧬

🧬 Superpowers are a no-no here, but different DNA is a fact! Washington State University (WSU) has been authorized by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to use pork from gene-edited pigs in food for human consumption. You heard (well, read) that right: the university has developed German-style sausages with gene-editing technology. 

     • The technology was employed to improve traits in livestock and the idea behind the sausages was to demonstrate that food made from such modified animals is safe to eat. 

👀 The FDA authorization is still investigational, however, not to mention limited to the five gene-edited pigs processed in this case. Read more about it here!
