Who saw that coming? ๐Ÿ‘€

According to the Swine Health Information Center (SHIC), there’s been an increase in PRRS, Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, and Influenza A virus. So pork producers are advised: please, do keep an eye on biosecurity measures this fall!

    • SHIC Associate Director Dr. Megan Niederwerder says the increase of PRRS has been particularly worrisome in pigs in the wean-to-market phase, so producers should be careful so that it doesn’t spread to sow farms.

โš ๏ธ Who saw that coming? Well, almost everybody…

According to Dr. Niederwerder, the increase is fairly predictable during the fall, but so far it hasn’t impacted sow farms, which gives us a good shot at containing it in the early stages.
