๐Ÿ’ธ At a food summit in Senegal, development partners (including the US, the EU, and the UK) have committed $30 billion to boost food production in Africa. After agricultural development plans were presented, they received pledges of support for over the next five years. 

     • The continent is facing its worst food crisis ever, mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine. In this scenario, it’s key that African countries boost their food production capacity rather than relying on imports – which have left them vulnerable to price hikes and shortages in the first place.
