💰But the salaries, not so much… At least, according to the new federal lawsuit filed against the nation’s largest meat companies. It accuses more than a dozen companies of conspiring to drive down wages paid to workers at beef and pork plants across the country!

     • The defendants are accused of violating the Sherman Antitrust Act, as they allegedly impose “no-poach” agreements, exchange data about compensation among workers through “detailed surveys”, and impose what were described as “highly regimented” wage schedules. 

     • These activities allegedly began Jan. 1, 2014, and have continued to this day.

🔍 The three main plaintiffs are seeking class action status for the lawsuit (in other words, to be represented collectively by a member or members of the group). Let’s keep both eyes on the situation and see how that goes… Click here to understand more about it.
