๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ด It’s vital, isn’t it? Since African Swine Fever (ASF) struck the island of Hispaniola, the US, Haiti and the Dominican Republic have been working together to eradicate it. 

     • Progress has been slow due to limitations in surveillance and control activities and the many political complexities involved in the response. Despite continuous challenges, there are some positive steps moving forward as the collaboration continues.

โš ๏ธ What does the future hold? It’s still all about ensuring the virus does not spread to other countries. Biocontainment, laboratory diagnostics, surveillance design and implementation, incident command, biosecurity, movement controls, and compensation are under focus. Read more about the issue here.
