📃 A bipartisan bill, the Foreign Adversary Risk Management Act (“FARM Act”), has been introduced and is claimed to be aimed at bolstering the US agriculture industry’s role on the Committee of Foreign Investment – a body that’s responsible for vetting foreign investments and acquisitions of American companies.

    • The FARM Act would make the Secretary of Agriculture a CFIUS member.

👀 The argument suggests that foreign investments are taking control over most pieces of the agriculture industry, and that’s why the agriculture community needs to have a permanent seat at the table when the government vets such investments. Want more information? It’s right here.
