๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท The deal between the EU and Mercosur has been on hold due to concerns about the deforestation of the Amazon and Brazil's commitment to actions against climate change. While the situation is on the road to change with the new Brazilian president and his underway environment-friendly policies, the EU has sent an additional letter to Mercosur. President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva claims the content of such a letter punishes any country that didn't comply with the Paris Agreement, which is unacceptable – particularly considering that not even the EU themselves met their own goals.

๐Ÿ‘€ According to Lula, he and Mercosur were preparing a response and highlighted how important it is that everyone give up their protectionism so that an agreement to improve the situation in both the EU and South America can be built. More about it here.
