๐Ÿท๐Ÿ’‰ Or should we say "hold your piglets?" A new research by the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine reveals that farmworkers vaccinating and weaning 3-week-old piglets can indirectly and significantly contribute to the spread of the influenza A virus (IAV) on swine farms.

  • That's because IAV has a two-way transmission mode that goes from pigs to humans and vice-versa. That helps the virus evolve and evade vaccines, so clarifying how IAV spreads can help protect the pig industry and avoid pandemics. Get more details here, it's important!
