🦠🐷 A Swine Health Information Center (SHIC) funded study conducted by the Iowa State University Veterinary Diagnostic Lab has identified the very first association of astrovirus with respiratory pathology in pigs! 

🤯 Why is this huge? Because the virus was previously considered a neurologic causing virus or a gastrointestinal disease agent in pigs. However, the find opens up a whole new world of possible investigations so that we can further understand how widespread porcine astrovirus is and how much of it is impacting or causing respiratory diseases across the swine industry.
