The fewer the barbecues, the lower the futures! Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) hog futures fell to the lowest point in the last six and a half months as demand for pork is fading – basically due to the fact that the traditional U.S. grilling season is nearing its end.

  • Hog futures have fallen in four of the previous five sessions. After continuous monthly reductions, the front-month hogs contract touched its lowest since February 11.

Cattle futures were mixed – live cattle contracts fell in the cash markets, while feeder cattle contracts closed higher.
