Eating green 🌱

♻️ Eating green is about more than just eating fruits and vegetables… It’s also about having an environmentally friendly food system throughout the globe. That’s why the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is aiming to launch a plan within the year to make the world's food system more sustainable. 

    • The idea is to show how the food and farming industries can align with the goal of capping global warming at 1.5°C.

   • The topic was brought up during the COP27 climate talks in Egypt.

👀 Several investors seek to bring more attention to agricultural sustainability as they claim that the ag and food production sectors are often overlooked in global warming debates, even though they are a major source of climate-damaging emissions. 

   • It’s nice to note that after Russia invaded Ukraine and global food prices skyrocketed, the topic is being brought to light and people are more open to discuss it (the only "not-so-terrible" thing that came out of it).

 💸 Conclusion: more than 40 investors – and their trillions of dollars – have urged the FAO to make a move and create a plan.
