Chop chop!

📊 CME lean hog futures eased back and cattle futures also fell on a short, choppy day of trading last Friday. Technical trading had some contracts up earlier in the session, even though corn prices firmed.

    •  The Chicago traded livestock markets closed early due to the Thanksgiving holiday, so meat packers had a short week to buy enough cattle for a full week of slaughter next week.

     •  The estimated number of slaughtered hogs decreased from a week ago, but increased in comparison to the same period last year.
