๐Ÿ•ต๏ธ๐Ÿ‘Ž Due to major shutdowns, reduced output, and higher meat prices for consumers (particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic), meat processing plants have been getting a lot of (not-so-positive) attention from the public. Nevertheless, little research exists to determine what production and labor factors make plants more likely to succeed... or it did, up until now: a new study by the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has looked into the characteristics associated with meat plant survival in the US.

๐Ÿฅฉ๐Ÿญ Among much interesting data, the study has revealed that the factors influencing small/medium plants are different from those affecting large plants, and the same goes for urban versus rural plants. For small plants, for example, survivability was closely related to business diversification, while for large plants, local context, including workforce-related variables, was more closely related to success. Super interesting, right!? For more details, click here (or read the complete article).
