๐Ÿ“„ In a letter to the European Commission President, the prime ministers of Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and Slovakia said that the high volume of Ukrainian grain products entering the Eastern European market is pushing down prices and thus, tariffs may need to be reintroduced if the negative effects can’t be stopped by other means.

     • Logistical bottlenecks mean large quantities of Ukrainian grains, which are cheaper than those produced in the EU, have ended up in central European states, hitting prices and sales of local farmers.

๐Ÿ‘€ The proposed solutions included changing laws on agricultural imports that would help regulate the volume and direction of the inflow of Ukrainian grain so it doesn’t all end up in EU markets. Read more about it here.
