An expected record 😱

🏆 As unexpected as it may be at a first glance, the average profitability of the Kazakh pig industry in 2021 was 30.5%: a record-breaking number! In terms of returns, pig breeding overcame all other livestock segments… That’s even more impressive considering that this development comes despite continuing pressure from religious groups.

     • Pig farmers complain about administrative pressure from Muslim religious groups – it’s a challenge to obtain bank loans and get land under pig farm construction, for example, not to mention having to face resistance from the local population.

🐷👀 Our pig industry would do well to keep an eye on the situation, since Kazakhstan can expand pork exports to Russia and China, taking advantage of state aid – ramping up exports is a strategy that could further boost the pig industry. Read more about it here.
