๐Ÿ’‰ The Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) has recently funded pioneering research to develop safe and rapidly deployable vaccines for ASFV in order to hopefully spare US swine producers in case of an outbreak.

  • A $500,000 Rapid Outcomes from Agriculture Research (ROAR) grant was awarded to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), and $150,000 to Kansas State University.

๐Ÿ”ฌResearchers are identifying the viral proteins involved in immunity and infection to develop a vector-based subunit vaccine, which includes a component of the virus to stimulate an immune response. The funding should provide them with what they need to fill in the gaps of information. Learn more about the research here.
