๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Republican Jim Pillen, owner of Pillen Family Farms and a veterinarian from Columbus who also serves at the University of Nebraska Board of Regents, was elected Nebraska governor. He was backed by a considerable number of more moderate Republicans, as opposed to the Trump supporters who aim to take the party further to the right.

    •  Among the pledges made by the new governor, cutting government spending while working to expand access to broadband internet service statewide, and reducing regulations, particularly on agricultural businesses are key topics.
